It's December 3. Do you know where your story by Lee Henderson, author of The Man Game and The Road Narrows As You Go, is?

How would you describe your story?

LEE HENDERSON: Two adult siblings are totally lost on a bison ranch in Alberta owned by their father, a disgraced ex-judge.

When did you write it, and how did the writing process compare to your other work?

LH: I wrote it about four years ago and really enjoyed the process, for a change.

What, for you, are the essential elements of a good short story? 

LH: That unforgettableness.

Did this story require any research?

LH: Ammonite, a gemstone made of a kind of fossilized mollusc only found in Alberta.
